Specialist international friction -stay manufacturer and supplier Cotswold Architectural strengthened its ‘special relationship’ with the USA, following a recent project.
The Cheltenham based manufacturer’s hardware was specified for the construction of a high-end apartment and shops complex in San Francisco.
A substantial number of Cotswold’s HDA 18” heavy duty friction stays were incorporated within the construction.
Iain Morgan, who is Cotswold’s Managing Director says that they chose his company’s products as the sash was nearly 60kgs heavy and were told that other suppliers didn’t have the wherewithal, infrastructure or knowledge to produce specialist products such as these to the set requirements.
The project provided another international coup for Cotswold, who has its hardware included in some of the world’s most famous buildings.
Iain comments: “For me this really nails the point about specialisation and how the British excel at engineering and manufacturing quality, high-end niche products.
“It was fantastic for us to see one of the largest curtain walling and façade companies in the world, Jangho Curtain Wall Americas Co Ltd, recommend our products for this project.
“In The UK we are often sceptical of the quality of Chinese product, but in curtain walling and facades two out of the top five suppliers are Chines.
“We are delighted there is a world leading Chinese company specifying British made products for a major US based project.”
The customer for the project GSH Beijing gave Cotswold major plaudits for their work, with a spokesperson saying: “From China to USA, from the fabricator to the developer, we all trust in Cotswold’s products.”
As well as being involved in projects worldwide, Cotswold also regularly create bespoke solutions for fabricators across the UK, including some of the industry’s most well-known names such as Polyframe and Safestyle; Metal Technology and Kawneer.
“With one trillion dollars in investment and $214 billion each year in trade, the UK-US economic and historical relationship is one of the largest and most important in the world. Cotswold is proud to be involved in this,” Iain concludes.
